Niche Hotel

Niche Hotel is a 4-star boutique hotel in downtown Athens. It’s located walking distance to some major sites, including the the Acropolis, as well as restaurants and access to public transportation options. They have a rooftop bar called Stork with incredible views of the Parthenon, which is also where their breakfast buffet is served each morning. Niche Hotel is the best hotel in Athens for those looking for a convenient and comfortable stay!
Room Types

We stayed in the “Niche” Room, but they also have a “Compact Niche” Room option for a lower price. There was a desk area, a coffee machine, as well as plenty of room for our suitcases on the floor. One important thing to note was that the bathroom has a glass shower, which is partially visible when in the main bedroom – so may not be the best option for friends or those who want added privacy!
When it comes to room types you can also upgrade to a room on a higher floor, with a view of the Acropolis. There are even 4 suite options if you’re looking to splurge on a more luxurious stay. Overall, we felt like the “Niche” Room was perfect for our 2-days in Athens.
Amenities

Our room came with standard amenities, such as free WiFi and a coffee machine. The air conditioning worked incredibly well, which was super important since we were visiting Athens in July! The bathroom has a rainfall shower with local toiletries to use.
Separate from the room amenities, they have a spa located in their basement where they offer a variety of massage options. While we didn’t have time to enjoy this during our stay, their menu seemed extensive!
Breakfast

We’ll be dreaming about Niche Hotel’s buffet breakfast for a long time! They had a bit of everything: fresh fruit, pastries, hard boiled eggs, sandwich meats, Greek yogurt and cereal. Servers could make custom coffee orders or bring freshly squeezed orange juice to your seat. The best part was enjoying the view of the Acropolis each morning!
Rooftop Bar

When deciding where to stay in Athens, Niche Hotel’s rooftop bar was one of the reasons we chose to stay there! The view is what makes this the best hotel in Athens. Since we booked directly through the hotel and noted that we were celebrating our honeymoon, they offered us a welcome drink to use at Stork Rooftop Bar. We were able to catch sunset over the Parthenon and it was such a nice touch to our stay. While we didn’t get any food here, they do offer a dinner menu if you want to make an evening out of it.
Reservations

As with any hotel stay, we always recommend reserving directly through their website for the best rate. Prices depend on when you’re traveling and the room type, but we found this to be affordable considering the location and inclusions of a buffet breakfast.
Review

Since we were traveling to Greece for our honeymoon, we wanted to ensure we had a comfortable stay while in Athens. Despite having only 2 days in the city, Niche Hotel was an amazing jumping off point to see most of the historical sights. Our highlights of our stay included the most delicious buffet breakfast, rainfall shower, powerful air conditioner and the view from the rooftop bar! We also found the staff to be incredibly friendly and helpful. We would recommend Niche Hotel to anyone visiting Athens.
