If you're thinking about getting a travel credit card, we've got a great place for you to start. Check out our Capital One Venture Card review to learn more about how you can fund your adventures with points.

About three years ago, we started researching the best travel credit cards so we could use points to help us fund our trips. Today, we’re sharing our Capital One Venture Card Review with you all since it was the first card we got. Since then, we’ve discovered an incredible world of traveling on credit card points. Our points have helped us fly to Switzerland, Ireland & Peru so far – with the hopes of covering many more vacations in the future! It is a complicated world out there, but I wanted to share with you a few things we’ve learned along the way and introduce you to one of the best travel credit cards in the game.

Earning Points with Capital One Venture

Now let’s get down to it: Capital One Venture Card Review. This was the first Travel Credit Card we got after moving home from Spain. You earn 2x miles for every dollar spent, on any type of purchase. This is great since other cards may only allow you to earn more than 1 point on specific types of purchases, such as gas or restaurants, but this card is a flat 2x on everything!

All the ways the Capital One Venture card can save you money and improve your life.

Capital One Venture Sign on bonus

Capital One Venture also has a great sign on bonus of 60,000 extra miles if you spent $3,000 on the card within the first 3 months This is equivalent to a ~$700 value. The points you earn don’t always have to be used towards flights, you can also use them on Hotels, Airbnb or even Amazon. (The sign on bonus alone could fund your next getaway!)

Capital One Venture Annual Fee

It’s important to note that the card has an annual fee of $95 but comes with a lot of extra benefits that make it worth it. (If you prefer cards without annual fees, you can try the VentureOne Card and earn 1.25x mile for every dollar spent).

No Foreign Transaction Fees

This is truly a travel card because there are no foreign transaction fees when using it abroad! A foreign transaction fee is imposed by a credit card on a transaction that takes place overseas and are typically 1%-3% the value of the transaction. If you’ve ever been on an international trip before and used a standard credit card or debit card before – you understand how annoying these added fees can be and how quickly they can add up over time. With this travel credit card, you won’t have to worry about that anymore!

Global Entry & TSA Pre-Check Benefit

The Capital One Venture card also includes Global Entry & TSA Pre-Check, which is equal to a ~$100 value. TSA Pre-check allows you to enter a special & faster security line at most US airports, and Global Entry allows you to stop at a kiosk instead of customs desk when re-entering the US. When you have the Capital One Venture card, you simply need to pay your Global Entry or TSA Pre-Check fees with your card and they will cover it for you! Using Capital One Venture Points

Capital One Venture has recently stepped up their game and have partnered with various airlines so your points go even further! (Jet Blue, Air France & Qantas to name a few). If you’re not looking to use your points on flights, you can also redeem them directly through the app to cover purchases. We’ve often done this to help us fund our Airbnbs. For more information on how to redeem your Capital One Venture Points for travel, check out this helpful article from The Points Guy.
